Simple Fried Red Snapper - Buen Provecho TV
Fried Red Snapper

Here is a simple way to prepare a fried red snapper. Please note that I purchased this fish already gutted and descaled and it is a must this is done if the fish is obtained intact.

Ingredients:

1 teaspoon of salt per pound of fish. The fish I used in the video was right around one pound and therefore I only used one teaspoon.

1/2 a teaspoon of lemon pepper per pound of fish.

1 garlic clove per pound of fish.

Equal parts of all-purpose flour and corn flour. Just measure enough to cover the fish. A little bit of corn starch may also be added.

As you saw in my video the fish I fried was too large for the frying pan I had and certainly you will get better result by having a frying pan that easily accommodates the size of the fish. It will also help with the flavor if the fish is seasoned and held in the fridge for a couple of hours before frying it. A fish of one pound should take around nine to eleven minutes to cook in oil at 375F degrees. However, the time may always vary, therefore recommend using your judgment at the time of frying.
