Ingredients:
3 lb of beef for stew
2 tbsp vegetable oil
1 medium size onion
Grated ginger, grate a piece about the size of a large garlic clove
4 garlic cloves
1/2 tsp Chinese five spice
2 cups beef broth
1/2 cup of dry sherry
1 oz of soy sauce
1/2 tsp of sesame oil
1 to 3 tbps of corn starch. Use one tablespoon for a very runny sauce or more for a thicker sauce.
1 1/2 lb of sweet potatoes
1 tsp of fish sauce
1 1/2 lb of bok choy
Green onions for garnish
This is the piece of ginger I grated for this recipe.
Below a few photos of how I cut the bok choy for this stew.
I first cut the stems in about 1/4″ pieces.
Then I divided the leafs in half.
And finally I rolled the leafs and cut in about 1/2″ pieces.
